Knowledge Impact, Inc., signifying the company's position as a leading provider of Web-based knowledge portals and training solutions for enterprise applications. The new name represents the company's key focus -- to make a serious impact on their clients' day-to-day operations by providing knowledge at their fingertips. The company also announced that it has appointed James Waldron as its new president and chief executive officer. Waldron, a recognized leader in CRM and defining new technology markets, brings nearly 20 years of experience to Knowledge Impact. Waldron's ability to expand Applix's business from UNIX desktop software to CRM and Business Intelligence software was instrumental to the company's increased revenues and market share in the CRM space, where it is now recognized as a leading player. Prior to joining Applix, Waldron served as vice president of Business Development at Microtouch Systems, Inc., where he was responsible for establishing corporate partnerships and developing the company's acquisition strategy. Waldron has also served as president and CEO of Visage, Inc.
