Daleen (Nasdaq:DALN), announced

today that Atlanta-based Cbeyond Communications has selected its BillPlex and eCare software packages to provide billing and web enabled self-care including electronic bill payment and presentment (EBPP) support for its ASP offering.

Cbeyond is a Broadband Applications Services Provider (Broadband ASP) that delivers voice and Internet-based applications to business customers through their own high-speed integrated IP network and an integrated operational and business support systems (OSS & BSS) infrastructure. The company recently received a $141 million in venture financing placing them among the largest first round equity investments in the telecommunications industry.

Cbeyond is focused solely on the small business market. Its goal is to bridge the digital divide between "big business" and the currently under served small business market by providing customers with a single source for all broadband services and applications. Cbeyond's IP network architecture will be built with next-generation technology that will reduce the company's capital and infrastructure costs from that of traditional providers. Cbeyond's strategy is to reinvest those savings into creating an organization that will focus on building close customer relationships by providing value added services including personal selling, localized customer service, and web enabled self care. The company will deliver these services through an efficient streamlined integrated network, and comprehensive flow though for OSS and BSS, which will provide highly automated and streamlined service and a more robust platform for its customers.

"At Cbeyond Communications, our differentiation will be in our focus on the customer and our ability to deliver quality products with the highest level of customer care. It is not simply about the services that we will provide, but also the service with which we deliver," said Chief Executive Jim Geiger. "Daleen's BillPlex and eCare programs have the assets that we will require to meet our commitment to our small business customers. The products will provide us with the flexibility to deliver a wide range of bundled IP voice and Internet services today and the open architecture supports enhanced services and applications that we may offer in the future. Additionally, Daleen's products are key ingredients that will enable us to deliver convenient self-care over the Internet 24x7, which supports our commitment to providing a high level of customer satisfaction. "

BillPlex and eCare are among the leading customer management and billing systems, with packages designed specifically for convergent voice and data offerings.

"We are pleased the Cbeyond has chosen to use our products to complement its strategy," said Jim Daleen, CEO and chairman for Daleen. "We are delighted to work with another company that also strives to add value to the customer by coupling the leading technology with a personalized touch. Cbeyond's customers will benefit from the efficiencies gained by 24x7 automated web enabled self-care and billing."

About Cbeyond Communications

Cbeyond Communications will be the preferred provider of broadband communications applications to the small business market in 25 of the largest major metropolitan areas of the United States. Cbeyond Communications will be the first to provide local and long distance voice communications, high speed Internet access, and enhanced data applications from a common IP architecture to small and medium sized business. This is a marked improvement over legacy telecommunications technologies which are harder to implement, maintain, and enhance and far more costly.
