Resonate Commander Provides Flexible Application Monitoring and

Management; Resonate Central Dispatch Ensures Consistent Performance

Resonate(R) Inc. (Nasdaq:RSNT), the leading

provider of award-winning application performance management solutions for business-critical applications, today announced that National Instruments has successfully used Resonate solutions to optimize the performance of its web site ni.com. National Instruments leverages commercial technologies, such as industry-standard computers and the Internet, to deliver customer-defined measurement and automation solutions. With more than 24,000 customers in 60-plus countries, NI is one of the world's most innovative and successful manufacturers of measurement and automation tools.

As NI expanded its web presence, it needed a solution that would monitor critical applications and then make corrective actions should problems arise. Engineers and scientists worldwide working in a variety of industries rely on award-winning ni.com and its e-commerce capabilities for application development help, technical support, and information about the company and its products. For NI, application performance and availability are critical to customer satisfaction.

NI chose Resonate Commander(TM) to monitor the diverse applications and systems across its infrastructure including Java application servers, Oracle application servers, Apache web servers and Windows terminal applications. Resonate Commander monitors these applications and alerts administrators of possible problems before end-users are affected. Administrators then are able to take immediate corrective action such as restarting servers or routing traffic away from problems.

To ensure consistent performance of its online applications, NI selected Resonate Central Dispatch(TM) for traffic management. Resonate Central Dispatch shielded customers from slow or hung applications by routing traffic to alternate servers. Resonate Central Dispatch also provides optimized performance of applications by routing customers to servers best able to respond to requests. Managing all requests at the Web and application tier, Resonate Central Dispatch allows multiple NI servers to act as a single, scalable, reliable, and easily managed Internet server system.

"Resonate provides excellent, flexible solutions that adapted to our complex infrastructure," said Brett Childress, Director of IT Systems at National Instruments. "We rely on Resonate's range of solutions to detect problems and ensure our customers are not affected by slow or failed applications. This allows us to provide quality service to our customers at all times."

"With many infrastructure problems occurring at the application layer, our products are well-designed to help IT administrators resolve these issues," said Brad Jung, Senior Director of Product Marketing and Product Management at Resonate. "As with many of our customers, NI relies on its Web presence to serve its customers. We understand that optimized performance of critical applications can mean confident customers and increased revenue."
