Medialink Appoints Renowned BBC Broadcaster Gunness to Key International Management Post.
LONDON -- Chris Gunness, a veteran BBC broadcaster, has been appointed Head of Media Relations for the international division of Medialink Worldwide Incorporated (Nasdaq: MDLK), a global leader in providing media services to corporations and organizations seeking to communicate their news to the public, it was announced today. Based in New York, Medialink established its international hub in London in 1992 and now serves a diverse group of clients including Diageo, adidas, the European Space Agency and the International Olympic Committee.
During his 23-year career at the BBC, Gunness held senior on-air and editorial positions in both radio and television, including BBC World anchor, BBC World Service anchor and producer, BBC's Today Programme news correspondent, and BBC's Newsnight reporter. In addition to his extensive broadcast background, Gunness previously served as Spokesman for the United Nations Secretary General in the former Yugoslavia.
Gunness will lead Medialink's international media relations team that promotes the availability of news and marketing programming to television and radio stations worldwide on behalf of the Company's clients. Gunness will provide editorial supervision for Medialink's staff of multilingual broadcast experts, which communicates in nearly 15 languages for greater local and regional news appeal. One of his primary responsibilities will be to develop campaign strategies to achieve global broadcast coverage in daily and weekly news programs for client news on topics including consumer, technology, healthcare, and finance.
