B&L develops, markets, and supports foundry ERP software and die cast ERP software exclusively. The software products and services offered are specifically designed for foundries and die cast companies, embodying decades of experience in these unique manufacturing sectors. All activities, including product development, marketing, sales, customer support, and training are coordinated from our offices in Bridgman, Mich.
Richard S. Laney founded B&L in 1976 after working in various material conversion industries for more than 20 years. The premise for the business was to create a software solution that met the unique needs of metalcasters. Mr. Laney always stressed excellence in customer service. These principals remain a driving force at B&L today.
The company's first generation of products operated on the IBM[R] midrange line of computers, e.g. System/32, 34, 36. In 2000, B&L made the strategic decision to develop a new ERP product designed to operate on Windows servers. The new product was named Odyssey[R]. The acceptance of Odyssey in the metalcasting world has exceeded our most optimistic plans. Due to Odyssey's flexible nature, both small and large metalcasters have quickly realized the benefits of Odyssey.
Building on the reputation of being the industry trendsetter, in 2009 B&L released its latest product, Odyssey Software as a Service (SaaS). This convenient model minimizes the cost of entry as well as the need for a technical staff.

B&L has once again revolutionized the metalcasting ERP software industry with Odyssey Software as a Service (SaaS). Odyssey SaaS addresses the need many metalcasters face--a need for industry-specific, ERP software with a low capital outlay. Odyssey SaaS satisfies this need by providing the industry with a proven metalcasting-specific ERP software system over the internet of hosted on their own servers.
Odyssey SaaS is the same software that many of North America's top metalcasters use. However, our Odyssey SaaS customers will enjoy the benefits of not having to expend upfront sums of money and resources typically needed for these projects. Odyssey SaaS customers will have the option of hosting Odyssey on their server (On Premise Model) or having B&L host the software for you (Remote Model). Under the Remote Model, all hardware, hardware maintenance, software and software maintenance, backups, disaster recovery, etc. are handled by B&L and their business partner, Gramtel, Inc. Both Odyssey SaaS models minimize the cost of entry for world class software and support.
