The non-profit Pew Internet & American Life Project survey of almost 1,400 Internet users found the Net most useful for getting information and communicating with family and friends. Nearly 90% of Americans who go online said the Internet plays a role in their daily routines, with 64% saying that their daily lives would be affected if they could not use the Net.
