ALGERIA: Joint venture construction plans for proposed $172,000,000 cement plant, ORASCOM...

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Egypt-based ORASCOM CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRIES (OCI) is currently planning to invest $172,000,000 in order to build a new white cement plant in western Algeria. Construction plans under consideration call for building a complex with an installed production capacity of 550,000 tons per year.

In so doing, OCI has established an Algerian subsidiary, CIMENT BLANC D'ALGERIE (CBA) to implement the project. And, CBA subsequently signed a $138,000,000 contract with FLS SMIDTH of Denmark and an OCI Algeria consortium. According to the terms of the aw
