DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 7, 1995--InterVoice, Inc. announced today that it received an order valued at approximately $1.7 million from Avantel for a number of its automated call processing systems. Avantel is a newly-licensed joint venture between MCI, a major communications services provider in the United States and around the world, and Banamex, one of the largest banks in Mexico. Shipment of the systems will take place during InterVoice's third fiscal quarter which began September 1.
Avantel intends to offer enhanced communications services between cities and other business markets in Mexico, with a level of service similar to that available from MCI in the United States. InterVoice systems will be used by Avantel to automate the processing of calls, the volume of which is expected to increase rapidly as the network becomes operational.
"InterVoice has a strong presence in the telco marketplace, and significant marketshare in the global market," said Mike Barker, InterVoice president and COO. "This order is indicative of the success telcos have experienced with the InterVoice Network Services Platform in providing the best in automated call processing," Barker added.
