NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 2002

Travelers Can Earn Points Toward Future Travel or

Retail Rewards For First 90 Days

American Express aims to help small businesses hit the road again with a tempting new promotion: Earn triple Membership Rewards(R) points for all airline tickets purchased through RezPort(SM), the leading online travel service for small business, during the first 90 days of paid enrollment.

RezPort has been helping thousands of small business travelers manage their travel and entertainment (T&E) expenses for more than six years, with an easy-to-use online site backed by American Express' dedicated e-fulfillment service center for Web navigation and travel support, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Unlike some newer online travel services, there are no fees for fully automated transactions purchased through RezPort. To encourage small business owners to try out the site, American Express is also introducing an online self-enrollment feature and a 60-day free trial period.

"Small businesses value good deals, and RezPort's new triple-points promotion is the icing on the cake," said Rich Miller, Vice President and General Manager, Global Interactive Travel for American Express. "RezPort already offers businesses a low-cost alternative for booking trips, plus the added benefit of encouraging employees to opt for the lowest fare presented. It's a win-win-win for budget-conscious businesses - bonus points, lower costs and lower average fares."

RezPort offers access to all major airlines and low cost carriers, as well as hotel chains and car rental companies. Companies can save money with discounts of up to 60% at more than 11,000 hotels through the American Express Worldwide Select Hotel Program. American Express negotiated rates on major airlines and car rental companies are available as well. And American Express offers consolidated management reports on all trips a company books, whether through a full-service office or online via RezPort.

Travel Managers Like RezPort Savings

Karen Nedd, one of three designated travel managers at an ocean-freight shipping firm with U.S. headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla., said RezPort has saved her company a lot of money since implementation in 2000.
