France's Leading Shipping Company Uses Industry-Specific eBusiness
Solution to Transform Business Processes and Increase Sales
Representatives' Productivity by 10 Percent
Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:SEBL), a leading provider of multichannel eBusiness applications software, today announced that Delmas, France's leading shipping company, is experiencing a 10 percent increase in sales force productivity using its Market And Trade Information System ("MATIS"), which is based on Siebel eConsumer Goods -- a comprehensive industry-specific solution that enables companies to manage relationships across the entire demand chain.
By consolidating information across the business and leveraging best practice business processes throughout the sales organization, Siebel eConsumer Goods is enabling Delmas' sales representatives in France and shipping agents abroad to more effectively close sales opportunities. The software also ensures that the company's customers -- trading companies, large industrial manufacturers, and forwarding agents -- receive consistent, high-quality shipping services.
Once a new customer has been identified, Delmas can quickly and easily record the customer's information and sales requests in the system. Sales representatives can then schedule customer appointments, enter objectives of the meeting, review historical transactions with the customer, input the minutes of the customer meeting, and assign the necessary pricing quotations to the pricing department. This streamlined approach to sales management is improving productivity, increasing sales effectiveness, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Sales representatives can review the pricing policies -- including existing negotiated annual fixed pricing contracts with Delmas -- for the customer through commercial channels. Delmas is also able to leverage an up-to-the-minute view of market information that assists representatives in closing more sales deals, to a higher standard of customer expectation.
Delmas' shipping agents in Europe, The United States, Africa, and The Indian Ocean are also using MATIS -- in French and in English -- to capture and record customer information regarding new business opportunities and customer inquiries. This information is shared with Delmas' management team in France, who can track the status of opportunities across the globe, effectively meet customer expectations, and prepare quarterly financial forecasts.
"With Delmas continuing to open new shipping routes, acquire more customers and ship more products, Siebel eConsumer Goods has a critical role to play in maintaining competitiveness," says Isabelle Treguier, CRM Project Manager, Delmas. "Using Siebel eConsumer Goods, we are focusing on those other crucial aspects of success, including price competitiveness, customer satisfaction, and improved sales productivity."
Delmas is France's leading shipping company. From the major Atlantic and Mediterranean ports in Europe, Delmas offers cargo services to West Africa, North Africa, The Indian Ocean, and Asia. The company also provides connections between Europe and the main ports of Africa, and recently opened a new service between Asia and East Africa. In all, the company makes 5,000 calls worldwide each year, to and from 116 ports, and carries more than 2.85 million tons annually.
