Sapient Will Present Strategies for Improving the Investor

Experience; Additional Education Session on Sapient's Global

Distributed Delivery Model Will Explore How Firms Can Achieve

Significant Cost Savings and Accelerated Implementations

Sapient (NASDAQ: SAPE), a leading business and technology consultancy, today announced that Rodney D. Mann, who oversees the company's Personal Financial Services practice, will lead two sessions at the American Banker 7th Annual Best Practices in Retail Financial Services Symposium in Palm Desert, Calif. The Symposium will be held February 24-26 at the Marriott Desert Springs.

In the session entitled "Improving the Investor Experience," Mann will join Andrea Young, vice president of application development for Janus, to discuss how Sapient helped Janus increase productivity and deliver a more efficient customer experience through rich, targeted self-service offerings. Mann will begin by explaining how Sapient employs user experience research to help clients identify their customers' needs and guide the technology design and implementation. Young will focus on the results that Janus achieved by creating a more compelling, usable online investor experience, including increased operational efficiency and reduced customer service costs. The session will be held on Tuesday, February 26 at 1:45 pm PST.

In a "Global Distributed Delivery" education session, Mann and Sapient Vice President Amy Shah will illustrate how Sapient's global delivery capabilities can help businesses achieve strategic outcomes, while managing costs and preserving quality. Shah will share insights gleaned from Sapient's work with leading financial services institutions such as Lloyd's of London, who partnered with Sapient to enhance the delivery of its global insurance services. To date, more than 30 of Sapient's clients have taken advantage of the distributed delivery capabilities to develop, implement and support business-critical technology initiatives. The session will be held from 12:30 - 2 p.m. on February 25.

"To compete in today's changing marketplace, financial services firms need to be able to achieve explicit outcomes through the rapid development and deployment of advanced technology," said Mann. "Sapient's partnership with Janus demonstrates our ability to help clients gain measurable business value by combining a user-focused approach with advanced technology, while our globally distributed delivery model offers a compelling alternative to traditional consulting."

Sapient and Janus have worked closely together on several business-critical projects, including the recent initiative that has enabled Janus to serve its investors more effectively and at lower costs through Janus.com. When the re-designed Janus.com was launched, the percentage of investors contacting the company online grew from 34 to 62 percent. The new site streamlines the process of performing several key transactions online, from opening and making changes to accounts to buying and selling funds. Janus.com now offers effortless access to applications, forms and information about fund performance and portfolio managers. By providing increased services online and reducing the number of paper forms that require time-consuming manual processing, customer service costs were reduced by 25 percent. In addition, 20 percent of new accounts with Janus are now opened through the online channel.
