CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Borland Software Corporation (Nasdaq:BORL), the leader in Software Delivery Optimization(TM), today announced that company executives will lead four different sessions at this year's SD Best Practices conference. These sessions include a half-day tutorial on surviving in a CMMI(R) environment, a birds-of-a-feather session on requirements engineering best practices, and two technical sessions related to business process modeling. Borland is also a gold sponsor of the conference, being held September 26-29 in Boston, MA.

--Bill Curtis, Borland's chief process officer, will conduct a half-day tutorial titled, "Surviving in a CMMI Environment." Curtis' session will take place Monday, September 26th from 1:45 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. EST.

--Borland's principal software engineer, Darrell Kalichak, and senior solutions architect, Ian Buchanan, will co-lead a technical session titled, "Requirements Elicitation with Business Process Modeling Notation." Kalichak and Buchanan's session will take place on Tuesday, September 27th from 3:45 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. EST.

--Matt Klassen, Borland's senior product marketing manager, will lead a birds-of-a-feather session titled "Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) for the Java Enterprise." Taking place Tuesday, September 27th from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. EST, Klassen's session will explain how organizations can benefit from the integration of BPMN into a complete UML Modeling platform targeting J2EE and Web services.

--Klassen will also lead a technical session titled, "Requirements Definition and Management: Beyond Requirements Management" on Wednesday, September 28th from 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. EST.
