SmartSound Software Again Named One of Los Angeles' Fastest Growing Companies in Deloitte...

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -- 267 Percent Revenue Growth Since 1999 Leads to Placement for Fourth Consecutive Year

SmartSound Software, Inc., the leading provider of soundtrack creation technology for visual content creators, has been named for the fourth consecutive year to Deloitte & Touche's

prestigious Los Angeles Technology Fast 50 program, a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the area by Deloitte & Touche LLP, one of the nation's leading professional services firms. Rankings are based on the percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues over five years, from 1999-2003.

SmartSound Software president and CEO Kevin Klingler credits the company's reputation as the leading provider of a complete soundtrack creation solution to a variety of markets as the main force behind the company's 267 percent revenue growth from 1999-2003.

"This past year alone, SmartSound has not only reinforced its dominance as the soundtrack creation tool for corporate and event A/V, but we've successfully expanded into the growing professional film and video market through our recent partnership with Avid," said Klingler. "The strength of our technology allows us to be able to maintain our grasp of current markets while quickly expanding into new markets."

SmartSound Software's increase in revenues of 267 percent from 1999 to 2003 resulted in a No. 24 ranking overall in the Fast 50 for Los Angeles.

"To succeed during prosperous times is one thing; to succeed in adversity is much more challenging, and that's exactly what the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 winners have done," said Tim Lovoy, partner in Deloitte's Technology, Media & Telecommunications practice, Los Angeles. "We applaud SmartSound Software for its tremendous accomplishments during economically challenging times and for being named one of the elite Fast 50 companies in Los Angeles."

To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1999 and $1,000,000 in 2003, must be public or private companies headquartered in North America, and be a "technology company" defined as owning proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues (using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify); and/or devoting a significant portion of revenues to research and development of technology.
