Aug. 27--AMERICREDIT BANKING ON ITS BALANCING ACT: When an analyst suggested that AmeriCredit's stock was so cheap that the company might want to buy back some of its shares, the chairman eagerly concurred.

"That will certainly be a consideration," Clifton Morris said during a conference call Monday, "and we'll discuss that with the board."
