ShopRite showdown in court: Supplier, Stop & Shop bid for chain's county stores.

Will The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. be allowed to expand is Westchester presence by gobbling up all seven ShopRite stores in the county?

Or will the operator of those stores, bankrupt Big V Supermarkets Inc., be allowed to sell them to its supplier, Wakefern Food Co.?

The answers rest with the federal Bankruptcy Court judge overseeing Big V's Chapter 11 case. Judge Raymond T Lyons will decide which of the two prospective buyers can acquire 27 of Big V's 31. ShopRite stores in and around Westchester.
