Jacksonville, Fla.-Based Discount Retailer Stein Mart Raises Its Forecasts.

Mar. 5--Stein Mart Inc. Thursday reported its third straight month of strong sales and raised its sales forecast for the first quarter, sending its stock to its highest level in 20 months.

The Jacksonville-based fashion retailer said total sales for February rose 8 percent to $98.3 million and comparable store sales rose 7.6 percent. Stein Mart, which operates a chain of 261 retail stores, said sales were strong across all apparel divisions and trends were positive
