Oct. 18--LAZARUS SAYS GOODBYE TO DOWNTOWN COLUMBUS: As Pittsburghers watch to see if sales improve for the underperforming Downtown Lazarus-Macy's department store, the same retail chain is pulling out of another slumping urban site in Ohio.

Parent company Federated Department Stores Inc. will close the 371,500-square-foot, 94-year-old downtown Columbus store in August.

"The reality is that sales in the downtown store have fallen by more than 60 percent since 1995," said David L. Nich
