KUWAIT: Construction contract award for planned world-scale grassroots ethylene-glycol (EG2)...

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local KUWAIT OLEFINS CO. (TKOC) is currently gearing-up to build a grassroots ethylene glycol (EG2) complex at the Shuaiba Industrial Area in Kuwait. In so doing, TKOC recently awarded an engineering, procurement and construction supervisory contract to Italy-based FOSTER WHEELER ITALIANA.

TKOC is a joint-venture company with the majority shareholders being PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRIES CO. (PIC) a wholly owned subsidiary of KUWAIT PETROLEUM CORP. and DOW EUROPE HOLDING, a wholly owned subsidiary of the DOW CHEMICAL CO. of the US.
