PROJECT OVERVIEW

The local ARABIAN INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORP. is currently gearing-up to build a new chlor-alkali and derivatives plant. The planned complex, to be sited at Al-Jubail, is expected to cost $160,000,000 to complete. And, the Saudi company recently awarded a construction contract to KOBE STEEL of Japan.

According to the terms of the award, KOBE STEEL will be responsible for building a complex with installed production capacities of: - 70,000 metric tons per year (mt/y) caustic soda; - 60,000 mt/y of chlorine; - 30,000 mt/y of epichlorohydrin
