The Mobile (Ala.) District plans to award up to $90 million to each of 12 contractors to remove and destroy debris caused by hurricanes and other natural disasters over the next three years.

The solicitation represents an expansion beyond the South Atlantic Division of a new approach to procuring supplies for hurricane assistance introduced in 1997.
