Where Can I Find Federal Programs That Favor Small Businesses?

* From  Date: Tuesday, February 19 2008

Government contracts offer numerous opportunities. The federal government awarded $65.5 billion in contracts to small and midsized businesses in 2006, allowing those businesses to provide it with a

variety of goods and services. With billions of dollars to be had, it's probably time to sign your business up.

If you want into the game, you need to familiarize yourself with the way the government works, with respect to small businesses. A good place to start is the Small Business Administration’s Business Matchmaking events, which puts small businesses together with buyers, including the federal government. The U.S. General Services Administration Alliant Small Business Government-Wide Acquisitions Contract represents a wide range of IT services, including biometrics, communications, training programs, security, and Web development. In the private sector, Defense Solutions, LLC implemented the Program and Capture Management Practice program in 2004. This program solicits small and midsized businesses' professional contracting assistance.
