ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Digicon Corporation (www.digicon.com), a developer of network engineering, software development, and Internet Protocol Telephony (IPT) solutions for Federal and commercial clients, announced today that it has been awarded a contract with Baltimore Housing, to install 1,130 IP phones on an all-encompassing IPT Cisco(R) platform. Of the 1,130 phones, 600 of them will be installed on the 14 floors of HABC's corporate headquarters. The remaining telephones will be installed at 37 remote locations throughout the city of Baltimore.
"Receiving the Baltimore Housing contract underscores our commitment to provide high-quality solutions and services to our customers," said Harry Hanna, Vice President of Business Development for Digicon. "Our focus is on building long-term relationships with our customers and providing them with valuable insight into how to upgrade their systems, increase efficiency while reducing their total cost of ownership."
Digicon, a Cisco Gold partner, has been supporting Baltimore Housing's Information Technology (IT) needs for several years. Digicon will sub-contract to several local minority businesses on this project in the areas of: deployment, equipment training, and on-going support services.
The new Baltimore Housing infrastructure will incorporate select network upgrades and provide easy administration with built-in redundancy, while making the system highly configurable and feature rich. This will deliver the business benefits of a converged network - increased productivity, greater business flexibility, and reduced operational costs.
