Apr 26, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A lucrative Australian Government defence contract has been awarded to a Brisbane-based group. Australian Aerospace has won a $A1.5 billion contract to build 34 European MRH-90 troop-lift helicopters for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The Government rejected the US-built Black Hawk and the UK-built Sea King. The European helicopters were chosen because of their perceived superior technology.
