Turning your Competition's Shortcomings to your Advantage

Can you build a home based business on someone else's mistakes? In any kind of business, if you can solve someone's problem (and therefore eliminate a pain for them), you can potentially build a business around that. A lot of time, people's "problems" or pains are resulting from their current company not providing a good service or product - or providing it in such a way, that it's unsatisfactory.

Study your competition and look at the mistakes they're making. You can do this by seeing what other people are saying about them. If the competition is well established (and quite often it seems like your competition is further along that you), then people are probably talking about them somewhere. Google their name and check the online forums to find what people are saying.

What aren't they doing right? What could they be doing better? These are hints you can use to make your business better than theirs. This is particularly useful when you're first starting out with your home based business and looking for that edge you can provide.  So don't forget to look at your competitors. Don't put them down in public, but turn the negative information into positive aspects for your home based business.
