Oct. 13--For more than 20 years, Gail Royal has served more than the loyal customers who have frequented her string of successful eateries and nightspots. She has served her community.

Royal, who got her first taste of the restaurant business as a waitress more than 22 years ago, has learned her way around more than a kitchen in her dealings with more than half a dozen popular Capital City haunts that paved the way for today's Down the Street Cafe.
