WALNUT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 29, 1998--ViewSonic Corp., a leading worldwide provider of advanced display technologies, has been recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the fastest growing private companies in America.

This year ViewSonic ranked number 436 on the well-known Inc. 500 list.

This is the third time in the past six years that Inc. has named ViewSonic one of "America's Entrepreneurial Superstars." In 1993, ViewSonic ranked number 365, and in 1992, the company earned position number 168. Of all the companies named on Inc.'s 500 list, ViewSonic is the second largest in terms of total revenues in 1997.

ViewSonic has enjoyed remarkable success since introducing its first computer monitor in 1990. ViewSonic revenues have grown from just over $100 million in 1993 to nearly approaching $850 million in 1997, an increase of 716 percent. In addition, the number of employees has jumped from 84 to 590 between the years of 1993-97. In order to qualify for the list, companies must be independent and privately-held through the 1997 fiscal year, must have had at least $200,000 in base-year sales, and must have shown a sales increase from 1996 to 1997.
