This recognition comes on the heels of other SensAble successes. In September, the New England Fast 50 named SensAble to their 1999 list of fastest growing technology companies. Just one month before that announcement, SensAble amazed the computer graphics industry with the launch of the FreeForm(tm) modeling system, the first application to allow modelers and designers to use their sense of touch to model on the computer.

To be eligible for the Inc. 500, companies have to be independent and privately held through 1998, have at least $200,000 in sales in the base year, 1994, and their 1998 sales must have exceeded their 1997 sales. The ranking is based on the percentage increase in sales from 1994 through 1998. Holding companies, regulated banks and regulated utilities are not eligible. Inc. verified all information using tax forms and financial statements from certified public accountants and by conducting interviews with company officials.
