ViaLogy Corp., a privately-held subsidiary of ViaSpace Technologies, LLC, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued to it U.S. Patent No. 6,142,681

entitled "Method and Apparatus for Interpreting Hybridized Bioelectronic DNA Microarray Patterns Using Self Scaling Convergent Reverberant Dynamics."

The technique covered by this patent provides a complimentary extension over ViaLogy's pioneering Pat. No. 6,136,541, both to Dr. Sandeep Gulati, which exploits active interferometric computing for the analysis of DNA-, RNA-, and peptide nucleic acid (PNA-) based biochip/microarrays.

This technique applies to the analysis of arrayed biomolecular, ionic, bioelectronic, biochemical, optoelectronic, radio frequency (RF) and electronic microdevices for genomics and diagnostics. Specifically, the technique enables mutation expression analysis at ultra-low concentrations using high-density passive or active biochip microarrays, thereby significantly enhancing repeatability of measurements.

"ViaLogy is quickly building a significant patent portfolio that leapfrogs conventional microarray analysis techniques by being the first to apply advanced quantum interferometry to biochip platform interpretation. Within the next six months, ViaLogy hopes to secure additional financing and strategic partnerships to allow us to fully implement our technique on several leading biochip platforms. In addition, we expect to demonstrate a disease specific enhancement in late 2001," said Dr. Carl Kukkonen, President of ViaLogy Corp.
