SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 21, 2000
PacketVideo Corp., the global leader in wireless media, today announced the receipt of the ISO 9001 certification for its world headquarters facility in San Diego.
PacketVideo has been awarded
The ISO 9000 family of standards represents an international consensus management practice that ensures an organization consistently delivers only high quality products or services. The ISO standards were established by the Geneva-based International Organization for Standardization, a network of national standards institutes from approximately 130 countries. ISO 9001 designation allows PacketVideo to enjoy greater market penetration; many governments and organizations conduct business with only those companies that attain this certification.
"PacketVideo is committed to providing quality products that exceed our customers' requirements and expectations," said Dr. James Brailean, president, chief technology officer and co-founder, PacketVideo. "Our achievement of this ISO 9001 certification is a tribute to our employees, and the level of quality to which they hold themselves and PacketVideo accountable."
TUV Essen, a third-party ISO certification company, performed the on-site certification audit and worked closely with PacketVideo to determine and verify standards compliance. As part of its procedures, TUV Essen will provide routine surveillance audits of PacketVideo's documentation and processes under ISO 9001 regulations.
"In the global marketplace, ISO 9001 certification lends great credibility to any company," said Shamsher Beri, lead auditor from TUV Essen. "It's an important accomplishment, especially for such a new organization."
