XiTec, Inc., a pioneer in the development of portable fluoroscopic x-ray systems, announced the appointment of three new members to

its Board of Directors bringing the Board membership to seven.

The newest addition to XiTec's Board is Dr. Gary E. Friedlaender, Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Yale University School of Medicine and Chief of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Yale New Haven Hospital. Dr. Friedlaender has over thirty years experience in the field of Orthopaedics both as a professor at Yale and as a surgeon.

Harold J. Parmelee and Christopher G. Miller joined XiTec's Board earlier this year. Mr. Parmelee commenced his career with Turner Construction Company upon graduating from MIT and rose to the position of President and CEO from 1989 to 1997. Under Mr. Parmelee's leadership, Turner Construction, a significant player in the hospital construction arena, reached total revenues of $4.5 billion. He serves on many advisory boards including University of Texas Sloan Grant Study, Liberty Mutual and Yale Cancer Center. Mr. Parmelee is currently President of the New York City based construction company J.A. Jones-GMO, LLC. Mr. Miller is CEO of Medical and Technology Applications, LLC, a company formed to purchase a significant interest in XiTec. He is also CEO of The Special Opportunities Group (SOG), which is the General Partner of The SOG Funds. Mr. Miller is a graduate of West Point and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Continuing outside Board members are Dr. Saul Drubin and Ralph J. Takala. Dr. Drubin is a retired anesthesiologist and the largest individual shareholder of the company. He has been very closely involved with XiTec since its inception in 1985 and brings a valuable hands-on medical perspective to the Board. Mr. Takala, former partner with Ernst & Young, is a financial and business consultant to both public and privately held middle market companies. He is active in several professional societies and is a member of the Business Advisory Council of the School of Management at the University of Massachusetts. David Malcolm, co-founder of XiTec and Chairman and Michael J. Sullivan, President and CEO, remain on the Board as members of management.
