Mobilygen Corporation, formerly QuArc(TM)Inc., a leading provider of digital multimedia technology, today announced that Dr. Joseph M. Perl has joined the company as President and CEO of Mobilygen Corporation. Dr. Perl will also serve on the Board of Directors of Mobilygen and as the Chief Wireless Architect of the company.

Dr. Perl was President and CEO of DSP Communications, Inc., until June 1999, shortly before the company was acquired by Intel Corporation for approximately $1.6 billion. Dr. Perl has been with DSPC since July 1990, serving in various management positions, including General Manager of its Israeli subsidiary. Prior to DSPC, Dr. Perl worked at Tadiran Communications and taught Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at a number of universities, including Florida State, University of Nebraska, and Tel Aviv University.

Dr. Perl received a BSc from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and his MS and PhD degrees from Colorado State University, all in Electrical Engineering. He has worked in the High Tech arena for more than 25 years, with special expertise in wireless communications, digital modems architectures design, information theory applications and signal processing in various communication channels, such as HF, VHF, UHF, Cellular, and PCS. Joseph has authored patents and scientific publications during his career.
