E-Business Predictions

For this year and beyond

More

If you've been paying attention (and if you haven't, that's OK), then you know that this week we've been looking at conclusions from a white paper, "E-Business Evolution 2009," written by Echo E-Business, a British company.

Today, let's take a look at e-business movements expected by the authors of the paper throughout this year and beyond:

1. More entrepreneurialism among small and medium enterprises. This will be driven by the economy, with disenfranchised employees looking to the Web for new opportunities.

2. Social media slowdown. Many organizations are feeling saturated by social media tools. However, savvy businesses may look for ways to consolidate their use of social platforms.

3. Revolution in online advertising. Instead of static banner ads, companies will increasingly put interactive content in their place.

4. Greater customer focus. Sites that allow customers to choose what they see (and buy) will strengthen trust and increase sales.

5. Price wars. Many manufacturers may choose only to work with more established brick and mortar outlets with an e-commerce channel or simply sell directly to their customers online.

It's an ever-changing world out there. Stay current and thrive.
