MonsterCommerce - Network Solutions Migration well Underway

MonsterCommerce is a web host provider that's geared toward online inventory and shopping cart management so it has been very popular among drop ship home based businesses. As mentioned in MonsterCommerce set for Major Upgrade, there will be a major migration to a new platform for its merchants. The new platform is actually a Network Solutions platform.

Network Solutions acquired MonsterCommerce way back in late 2005 as reported here. With this upgrade, the MonsterCommerce brand will all but disappear as often happens in acquisitions such as this. What can merchants expect?

The admin interface changes completely and there's no need to talk about that here except to say that it will be learning curve for the migrating store owners. Having said that however, there are some big benefits to the migration. Most of the add-on features that MonsterCommerce used to charge extra for will now be rolled into the product. Most notably, are the QuickBooks integration and the Import/Export features. MonsterCommerce's proprietary add-on products for those functions - MonsterBooks and DataPort - will disappear.

Network Solutions hopes to have all migrations done by the end of September. New Network Solutions clients will bypass the MonsterCommerce interface completely and go directly to the new "Version 7" interface. The forum for MonsterCommerce merchants is linked below.
