Scott Whitlock/33
President and CEO
Rexware Innovation
Last year, Scott Whitlock had to pick up and move his business, Flexware Innovation, for the fourth time in seven years.
Flexware has grown so fast that it kept needing more and more space. Its most recent move was to a 10,000-squarefoot building in Fishers that has a state-of-the-art manufacturing strategy room where executives can gather to tackle difficult manufacturing problems.
The company is dedicated to strengthening manufacturing. Flexware specializes in connecting operations between the production and business departments of a company.
Whitlock started the business in 1996, along with local entrepreneur Rick Vanderwielen, whom Whitlock later bought out. It has grown 300 percent and has been profitable every year except 2001. His customers praise Flexware Innovation's work, saying it's dedicated to constant performance improvement in manufacturing and has few rivals in the Midwest.
Ever since he was a kid growing up on a Connersville farm, Whitlock has liked tinkering with technology and mechanics. In high school, he rebuilt a 1966 Mustang.
