Spice Maker McCormick to Sell Packaging Division to Lancaster, Pa.-Based Firm.

Jun. 27--McCormick & Co. Inc. said yesterday that it would sell the smallest of its three divisions, which makes plastic tubes and bottles, to a privately -held Pennsylvania firm for $142.5 million.

The world's largest maker of spice and flavorings said it will use an unspecified amount from the sale of its packaging division to Kerr Group Inc. to pay off debt from this month's $180 million purchase of Zatarain's, a New Orleans-style packaged food and seasonings company.
