DuPont Cuts Will Not Affect South Carolina Operations.

Apr. 13--DuPont will cut 3,500 jobs worldwide by year's end, but none of the cuts will occur at its three operations in South Carolina, company officials said Monday.

The cuts do not affect DuPont's Invista textiles business, which it plans to sell to Koch Industries of Wichita, Kan., said DuPont spokesman David Hastings. Invista's synthetic fibers plants include a 1,420-worker nylon operation in Kershaw County.
