Dec. 26--MOSCOW--Three state-run and private Russian companies have set up a consortium to develop oil and natural gas fields in Eastern Siberia under the encouragement of President Vladimir Putin's administration.
The decision to set up the consortium by state-controlled gas monopoly Gazprom, state oil company Rosneft and private oil firm Surgut was made at a meeting Monday that Putin attended, according to the Kommersant newspaper.
