Eva Zaczynski, owner of Eva's European Sweets, says the climb to success is not a box of chocolates.
What obstacles have you overcome?
Like most women in business, I have overcome many challenges and have learned to deal with what life brings my way.
How do you balance
I'm not sure that I do a very good job of balancing my home or personal life and my work. In many ways, my work is personal, so it is difficult to separate the two.
What is your advice to other women who want to succeed?
Do not be afraid to try - anything is possible. Believe in yourself and in what you are doing. Everything has a way of falling into place.
How is your life different today from how you imagined it would be when you were still in school?
When I was in school in Poland, I never thought that I would own a Polish restaurant in Syracuse.
What do you think is the greatest challenge facing women in business in the next five years?
Women cannot be afraid to take risks. We need women to continue to believe in themselves, to be strong, and to not be afraid to make a difference. If they are afraid, then the number of women-owned businesses will not continue to grow.
What was your best career decision?
To listen to my son and daughter, who encouraged me to fulfill my dream and open Eva's.
