Former Ashland Chief Yancey Dies after Long Illness

Robert E. Yancey Sr., former president of Ashland Oil, Inc., died on January 27 in Russell, Ky., after a long illness. He was 69.

Yancey's industry career stretched over 38 years with the Kentucky-based firm ending with his retirement in 1981. He served on the company's board of directors for 17 years.
