RUMBLINGS: MCN execs end 1998 minus bonus.

MCN Energy Group Inc.'s compensation committee denied bonuses to MCN executives and employees because of poor 1998 financial results, according to the proxy statement for the company's April 28 annual meeting.

That meant Alfred Glancy III, chairman, president and CEO of MCN Energy Group, did not get the $500,000 bonus he received in 1997. Glancy, however, did get a 7.5 percent base salary increase from $620,883 in 1997 to $667,800 in 1998.

The Detroit-based energy company incurred $279 million in losses related to its failed exploration and production busine
