Troubled Woodchem business sold.(News)

Woodchem Europe SA has been sold for [euro]3m to an industrial consortium comprising Hubert Benjamin, Andre Merlin and former Woodchem Europe director Dominique Balcaen.

The new name of the relaunched company is to be Woodchem SA and production at the the Hautrage, Belgium factory began in December.

The mill employs 35 and was capable of producing 200,000 tons per year when it was shut down in April 2003.
