South Africa -- Synthetic-fuels giant Sasol wants to buy service stations from other oil companies to help meet its target of deploying a chain of 300 branded petrol service stations in South Africa from 2004, Internet news service Petrol Plaza reported in March.
Sasol chief executive Pieter Cox said that Sasol already owns a "substantial percentage" of the 300 planned outlets, would be prepared to develop further greenfield sites and planned to acquire others from other fuel companies. This would give Sasol about 10 to 12 percent of the South African retail fuel market
