Survey Finds ATM, Debit Card Use Likely To Rise.(Brief Article)

In its first consumer survey since its merger last year with the HONOR Network, STAR Systems, Inc. says that its most recent study again shows rising use of ATM and debit cards. The telephone survey, conducted for STAR by the Applied Management & Planning Group included 8,486 financial account holders in 21 states served by STAR. The survey found that in the 30 days prior to the survey, ATM/debit cardholders used their cards an average of 16.8 times, or about four times a week. This is up from 15.9 uses per week reflected in STAR's 1998 survey. In 1997, the number was 14.7. Among
