Bank Hapoalim expands in Far East.

Bank Hapoalim Ltd. has contacted 1,500 banks in 100 Far Eastern countries preparatory to developing trade relations with the Asian region. Some of the countries that Bank Hapoalim has contacted, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and the Fiji Islands, have not established diplomatic relations with Israel. Bank Hapoalim, as the first Israeli bank to operate an Electronic Data Interchange system, will be able to assist Far Eastern banks in the computerized exchange of trade documents.
