New Jersey Casino control commission approves Trump's Castle merger into THCR.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 1996--At its meeting this morning, the New Jersey Casino Control Commission (CCC) unanimously approved the acquisition by Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts Holdings, L.P., a subsidiary of Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts, Inc. (NYSE:DJT), of all the outstanding

equity interests of Trump's Castle Associates, the owner and operator of Trump's Castle Casino Resort in Atlantic City.

A meeting of THCR shareholders to approve the transaction is scheduled for September 30.

"Over the years, we have demonstrated our commitment to the hotel casino industry here and we have major expansion projects underway that will further reinforce our Atlantic City presence."

Following the merger, THCR's gaming operations will include all four of the Trump gaming operations: Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, including Trump World's Fair at Trump Plaza, and Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, both located on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, as well as Trump's Castle Casino Resort, located on the bay in Atlantic City's Marina District, and Trump Casino riverboat casino at Buffington Harbor, IN, on Lake Michigan. The transaction will make THCR one of the largest casino entertainment companies in the United States.
