Pure Tech sets annual meeting date.
RIDGEFIELD, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 1, 1996--Pure Tech International Inc. (NASDAQ: PURT) today announced that the annual meeting of shareholders will be held at 9:00 a.m. on May 1, 1996.

The meeting agenda will include a proposal to change the company's name to PureTec Corporation. "This change will communicate that we are a vastly different and stronger company than existed a year ago," said Fred Broling, chairman and chief executive officer, "while preserving a link with our past." The company, as now structured, is the result of the combination of two established public companies, the "old" Pure Tech International and Ozite Corporation, and the purchase of certain Occidental Chemical Corporation operations now known as Burlington Resins.
Pure Tech International Inc. is a leading manufacturer of specialty plastic products, including medical tubing, lawn and garden products, dispenser tubing and seals, and molded components. The company also produces specialty plastic materials, including copolymer and vinyl dispersion resins used in flooring, inks and coating; PVC compounds used in medical products and food packaging products; and recycled PET for use in fiber and packaging applications. The company employs approximately 2,000 people and operates 26 manufacturing facilities worldwide -- 22 in the U.S. and four abroad.
