Autonomy Sets Date for Annual General Meeting ofShareholders; Proposes 3-For-1 Stock Split.

Autonomy Corporation plc (EASDAQ:AUTN)(Nasdaq:AUTN), a leading provider of Internet infrastructure technology, announces today that its Board of Directors has set July 20, 2000, as the date for its Annual General Meeting

and recommends that at the meeting its shareholders approve a 3-for-1 stock split.

If approved, each of Autonomy's ordinary shares, nominal value 1p per share, and ordinary shares represented by ADSs, will represent three new ordinary shares, nominal value 1/3p per share, effective on August 1, 2000. After the split, Autonomy will have approximately 125,300,000 ordinary shares outstanding.

The Annual General Meeting of Autonomy will be held at Hasilwood House, 60 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4AJ on Thursday 20 July 2000 at 3.00p.m. (London time).

ALL SHAREHOLDERS NOT PLANNING TO ATTEND THE MEETING IN PERSON ARE URGED TO SEND INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE VOTING OF THEIR SHARES SO THAT THEIR SHARES WILL BE REPRESENTED AT THE MEETING.
