Emerick M. Woods Named President And CEO Of Aligo

Aligo, Inc., a global leader in mobile field force software solutions, announced Emerick M. Woods has been appointed its chief executive officer. Mr. Woods, who will also join the company's board of directors, will replace Mr. Robert Smith, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Mr. Woods will be responsible for leading Aligo into the future — including executing an aggressive growth and market leadership strategy based on delivering new products and services, continued revenue growth, increasing market share, and establishing new channels.

Woods has managed and founded several early stage high technology companies, held numerous executive positions, and held consulting positions at McKinsey and Company and Booz Allen & Hamilton. Mr. Woods has most recently been working closely with a leading venture capital firm to reposition, develop sales and growth strategies, and launch early seed stage companies. From 1997 to 2001, he served as president and chief executive officer of Vicinity Corporation, a publicly traded company where he completed its initial public offering and successfully raised over $140 million.

"I am very pleased to be joining Aligo at such an important and exciting time," said Mr. Woods. "Aligo possesses a compelling and unique vision, strong product and technology, an outstanding team, and a demonstrated ability to execute. I look forward to working with this dynamic team whose dedication, tenacity and hard work have led to the company's success to date."

In a companion release, Aligo announced the acquisition of H2 Technologies, an Atlanta-based company with deep industry expertise and sophisticated mobile solutions for service and specialty contractors. Additionally, former H2 Technologies CEO John McCarthy has been named vice president of sales and will spearhead Aligo operations in Georgia.

"Emerick brings a proven track record of transforming companies and creating value for customers and shareholders. In particular, his experience at Vicinity delivering location-based solutions through an application service provider model make him a great fit for Aligo," said David Crowder, general partner of Thomas Weisel Venture Partners. "We are very excited to have Emerick join us as Aligo's CEO and are confident that Emerick will lead Aligo in expanding its presence in the marketplace as well as executing on our growth strategies."
