Statement from Arthur D. Little.

Business/Technology Editors

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 20, 2001

The Board of Directors of Arthur D. Little has voted to place Lorenzo Lamadrid, who has been the firm's CEO since July 1999, on a leave of absence and to relieve him of all substantive duties. The Board has selected

Pamela McNamara to serve as acting Chief Executive Officer.

McNamara was previously the head of ADL's North America Management Consulting operations and the leader of the firm's Global Health Care Practice, and she has been a member of its Board of Directors.

In announcing these decisions, the Board reaffirmed the company's strategy for realizing ADL's exceptional upside potential by building on its inherent strengths at the interface of business and technology and its strong client relationships. It also noted that in the fiscal year ended December 31, the performance of the company's core consulting operations improved significantly over the prior year, and the firm is poised for further growth.
