SAN RAMON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 8, 2003

The Small Business Action Committee (SBAC) announced the recent appointment of Christopher George as Chairman to its Board of Governors. As Chairman, he will drive fund raising efforts and provide

ongoing guidance to the SBAC on a wide range of issues of interest to California's small businesses.

George is president of CMG Financial Services (CMG), a privately held company comprised of both mortgage brokerage and mortgage banking subsidiaries. CMG is headquartered in San Ramon, Calif., with offices in Concord, Walnut Creek and San Diego.

SBAC founder and president, Joel Fox, commented on George's appointment, saying, "We are excited to have Chris George join our team. As the owner of a small business, he understands the needs of our members, and I know he will work diligently to represent their interests."

George immediately went to work in his new role, traveling last week with Governor Schwarzenegger to a series of public events sponsored by the SBAC. In his introductory comments at last Friday's event in Tracy, George remarked, "I know firsthand that California's small businesses are struggling under a heavy burden ... a burden that results from an overgrown state bureaucracy and very serious mismanagement of our state's finances." He went on to explain that the Governor's proposed reforms will provide necessary relief to these challenges.
